Another month has passed here in Hevrice so its time for another wrap up. Yet again I can report my busiest month ever. 7,556 came to read my blog in March. That’s an average of 244 every day. Not too bad.

March’s most popular posts were:
As always the Rifter guide is leading the way by a long margin. It brings in about a third of the total page views that I get each month. I’m really glad to see that its so popular. Its also noticeable that the Twitter Pack post gets a lot of attention. I honestly haven’t paid any more thought to it since I made that original post. Seeing as its so out of date I will definitely revisit it and bring the information there up to date.

Surprisingly the most common referrer this month is not the Rifter guide thread but another thread on Eve Online about PvP with low skill points closely followed by another thread about assault frigate combat and a third about frigate combat (thanks to Spectre for the plug in that one). Posting in the Warfare and Combat section of the Eve Online forums seems to be a good way of drawing traffic to my site. Other noticeable sources of visitors are the Eve Bloggers portal and the various members of the Eve Blog Pack.
So what have I been up to? The two biggest stories in the last month have probably been the adventures of Rifter Fleet Issue and my recent road trip down to Providence where I managed to get The Tuskers set as “kill on sight” to the local alliances. In total I made 49 kills this month. Not a huge amount but not bad considering how quiet its felt.
Life in The Tuskers continues to be good. I’ve taken on a few more responsibilities in the corporation including running our Ventrilo server. If you want to come and talk to us then drop by The Tuskers Public Channel in game and our public Ventrilo details are there. We’ve lost a few members for a variety of reasons, including some old friends, but also gained some promising recruits. One of my regrets is that I haven’t been able to lead or attend as many corporate operations as I would have liked to. Work is currently underway on our latest corporate project and I’ll tell you more about it as soon as we’re ready to release it into the world.
I managed to ressurect the Eve Tools reviews that I’ve been doing and wrote about both Ceres and Eve Metrics. They were popular articles so I’ll keep them going.
I haven’t done a monthly review since the very first one I did back in September 2008. I quite like the idea, though, so I’m going to resurrect it and try and keep it going in the future.
February has been the busiest month yet. There were 6,045 page views, up from 5,978 in January. Its good to see more and more people coming to read my writing. I also passed the 100 post landmark this month and it was good to read everyone’s responses and get to know a bit more about my readers.

Most of my visitors find there way here from my Rifter guide thread on the Eve Online forums. The other big contributors to my readership are the fantastic evebloggers.com, the EVElopedia Rifter article, and the various members of the Eve Blog Pack. Thanks to everyone whose thrown a link in my direction this month.
People who come to my blog from search engines seem to split pretty evenly between those searching for me by name and those searching for Rifter PvP tips. I also seem to get a surprising number of hits because of plugging the fantastic Frigank videos.
The most popular posts this month are:
The Rifter Guide: Solo Pvp
Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire
Taking on Interceptors
Caught on Camera
Why I Fly Rifters
Its no surprise that the most popular post is the Rifter guide. 1,839 people read it compared to just 223 on the next most popular article.
So what’s Wensley been up to this month? Not a huge amount, really. I’ve been flying lots of Rifters and having lots of fun in them. The fact that I can now record my fights on video means that I’m working on putting together my own PvP video. The basics are there now and all I need is lots of good fights.
Seeing as Kirith has written up a review of the previous month, I thought it might be an idea to share with you the progress of Wensley’s ramblings.
Last month this site received 1,858 visitors, up from 606 in August. I’m sure this is almost entirely due to CK adding me to the Eve Blog Pack. In fact 77 of my visitors came from CK’s site with Spectre being the next highest source of visitors with 70 referrals. Thanks guys!
As well as clicking through from other sites, people are also finding me through web searches. The most common terms are, obviously, variations on my name with various qualifiers attached. The joint most popular term, though, was “how to pvp in a rifter”. This is definitely something I’m working on writing a proper guide for as my skills and experiences improve. Especially in light of recent follies.
The five (well, eight) most popular posts for September were:
- Eve Mail
- Beyond Reckless
- Eve Asset Manager
- Keep It Simple, Stupid
- Things Are Looking Up, Blog Fleet, and A Mixed Start
I’m glad to see that my reviews of Eve tools were popular and well received. I’ll definitely try and write some more over the next month so you can see all the great tools out there. Sadly, I don’t have an iPhone so I can’t test out the apps for that (unless someone wants to buy me one).
This month has seen me make the difficult decision to leave my 0.0 corp and start up a pirate life flying with Ka Jolo in the Tuskers. Most of the stories have been about me coming to terms with life as a pirate and trying to learn from my mistakes.
What have you guys enjoyed most over the last month? Do you have any favourite posts or stories? Is there something you’d like to see more of? Or less of? Let me know so I can try and make October an even better month.
Anyway, fly safe, everybody. Its been fun writing these logs and I look forward to more good stories, guides, and reviews in the months ahead.
