Very much. That's pretty much what I meant about them being obvious primaries. If you don't have overwhelming e-war support you are going to miss a lot of them. Its not entirely theorycraft, more the thought process I go through when I get a say in fleet composition.

I think I would still consider EWar ships as glass cannons. Although some of them might now do much damage, they still are "cannons" in the way of being a really strong asset to the fleet.

Good theorycrafting from you too.

You're right. On a solo ship you're best off fitting the standard web and scrambler combination. That said, scramblers and tracking disruptors are also a pretty popular pairing, especially with the Factional Warfare crowd.

I like the point that you bring up about redundant webs and scrams. Every pvp fit that I see in Battleclinic, practically, has a web and scram fitted. But in a gang of 10 ships, only a couple of those actually need to be using the warp scram. All the other ships therefore have a free mid slot with which to fit target painters, tracking disruptors, etc, etc, or even some more tank.

In the end it boils down to having a group of pilots who communicate well and are well organized in order to minimize redundancy and maximize effectiveness.

This is interesting, being fairly new to PvP, and primarily operating solo, I've debated the value of ewar modules. Of course, flying Rifters for the most part, there isn't much room for a mid slot after the AB/MWD, webber and scrambler. I've thought of dropping the webber, relying simply on being "fast enough as it is", and fitting some kind of ECM to help break scrambler locks for when I find myself suddenly outnumbered (which has happened once or twice... Get that nice cruiser down low, and then three of their friends show up from neighboring systems...) But flying solo, doesn't seem like there's much reason to go there otherwise. Better off fitting more gank or tank and recognize that a solo endeavor is effectively an all-or-nothing event...
